Haarlem's makers, together in one box.

In 1994 Jopen brought two old recipes out of the Haarlem city archives, dating from 1407 and 1501, and with them revived the city's beer. Since 2010 Jopen has brewed in the Jopenkerk, a former church in the city centre, and today also in the Waarderpolder. Our boxes carry their Mooie Nel IPA in a can, named after the lake between Haarlem and Spaarndam.

Started in 2012 without any kettles of its own. Backed by a bank and hundreds of crowdfunders, its own brewery on Bingerweg has been running since September 2016. Uiltje brews bold craft beers, with comic-style artwork on the can and names like 'Commissaris Rex' and 'Buurman wat doet u nu?'. Our boxes carry their Wit in a can and the Christmas beer 'F*ck de Kerstboom staat in de Fik!'.

A family business run by the Van Esdonk family, and baker of the Haarlemmer Halletjes®, a biscuit based on a 1693 recipe by Eymert van der Schee from the Oude Halletje on Korte Veerstraat. When patisserie Van Ewijk closed in 2025, De Haarlemse Bakker took over the original recipe. The butter Christmas wreath biscuits in our hampers come from their ovens too.

For every city gin, City Gin involves at least a hundred residents, who together decide the icon, the ingredients, the colour and the story in local dialect. For Haarlem that became St Bavo's Cathedral, the colour red and botanicals such as red apple, samphire, cinnamon and clove. The box holds a small bottle of City Gin Haarlem.

A nut shop on Generaal Cronjéstraat in Haarlem North. The nuts are roasted fresh on site, and that smell is what the shop is known for. Peanut butter is made there on the spot.

The cheese shop on Barteljorisstraat, voted best speciality food shop for farmhouse cheese. Owner Wouter started behind the cheese counter at fourteen and chooses his farmhouse cheeses on taste, his customers' as well as his own. For our boxes they supply Zuivelhoeve's mustard and dill sauce.

Leonie discovered masala chai on a trip with her husband to his family in India, then experimented at home until the recipe was right. Today she makes a ready-to-drink chai with her sister Kirsten, from black tea, almond drink and organic spices such as cinnamon, cardamom, clove and ginger. Plant-based, with just a touch of unrefined cane sugar.

When his wife Yvonne chose a life without alcohol, Paul set out to make her the best alcohol-free drink he could. In June 2021 he first took it to the market in Haarlem, together with Yvonne and her brother Eric. They work with certified organic ingredients. Our boxes carry their Original ginger shot.

A lunchroom on Schagchelstraat, one of Haarlem's Golden Streets. Brownies&downieS works with people with an intellectual disability or who are further from the job market. For our boxes they supply fresh tea.

Roads guides people with a mental health condition or a history of addiction into work, among other things through its own social enterprises. One of them is Appeltaart Imperium, a craft bakery in Haarlem where participants work alongside experienced bakers. That is where the granola in our boxes comes from, made with rye flakes, almonds and seeds.

Father Pieter and daughter Floor van der Steen started 'mints on a mission' in Haarlem in 2018: organic, vegan peppermints without artificial sweeteners, in a tin that can be recycled endlessly. Our boxes carry their Dutch Mints in the small size.
